Illinois hunting: Archery deer still lagging

The lag continues in harvest by Illinois bowhunters, but we shall see how the next few weeks go as the rut builds.

Here is the latest update from the IDNR:

Through Monday, October 20, 2013, Illinois archery deer hunters harvested a preliminary total of 12,529 deer. Preliminary harvest through the same period last year was 14,207. Harvest to date consisted of 68% does and 32% males (8576; 3953). Top five counties were Pike (471), Fulton (355), Jefferson (339), Vermilion (269), and Adams (258).
