The lag continues in harvest by Illinois bowhunters, but we shall see how the next few weeks go as the rut builds.

Here is the latest update from the IDNR:

Through Monday, October 20, 2013, Illinois archery deer hunters harvested a preliminary total of 12,529 deer. Preliminary harvest through the same period last year was 14,207. Harvest to date consisted of 68% does and 32% males (8576; 3953). Top five counties were Pike (471), Fulton (355), Jefferson (339), Vermilion (269), and Adams (258).
