At today’s financial-crisis-remembered symposium, Austan Goolsbee, former chairman of the Council of Economic Advisors in the Obama administration, says if the glitches in the healthcare signup website are fixed quickly, they’ll just be remembered as hiccups.
Not so technological glitches with financial exchanges, said Laurence Fink, CEO of investment firm BlackRock, in a separate panel appearance.
“When we start having corporate bonds (on the private exchanges), we could have an unraveling of the market again,” Fink warned.
One exchange proponent stood up to say it’s all a media scare, but Fink pressed on. The exchanges should have proper governance and tech investment, he said.
