AGENDA ACTION: Fans of Geoffrey Rush will be happy to know the Oscar winner, along with co-star Sophie Nelisse and director Brian Percival will attend the special Oct. 22 screening of their film, “The Book Thief,” based on Markus Zusak’s bestselling novel. It’s part of the Chicago International Film Festival, running Thursday through Oct. 24 at the AMC River East Cinemas, 322 E. Illinois.
†Former Chicago mayor Richard M. Daley has kept a fairly low public profile since leaving office, but the man who held forth for 22 years on the fifth floor of City Hall will be a guest on Bob Sirott and Marianne Murciano’s WGN-AM radio show, noon to 3 p.m. Thursday.
