The Bears’ roster shuffling continued on Wednesday with defensive tackle Christian Tupou getting promoted to the active roster from the practice squad, while Nate Collins was placed on injured reserve.

Tupou was signed Monday night to the practice squad after Collins tore his anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee against the Saints on Sunday.

Tupou, though, probably remains behind undrafted rookie defensive tackle Zach Minter when it comes to playing time. Minter was active against the Saints, but didn’t play.

Minter said Wednesday that he felt like he would get some snaps against the Giants on Thursday night. He rotated in with the first-team defense during walk-throughs. Minter also beat out Tupou in the preseason for a roster spot.

Landon Cohen, whom the Bears signed after Henry Melton tore his left ACL, also is the top backup behind Stephen Paea, who is dealing with a nagging toe injury, and Corey Wootton, who has moved from end to tackle.

Minter and Tupou are yet to play a game in the NFL.

“It’s all part of our obligation to make sure everybody is in the same page from the veteran guys to the rookies to make sure we all know what to do out there,” Minter said.
