DeKalb police have confirmed an incident at the Travel Inn in DeKalb near the Northern Illinois University campus around 12:30 p.m. Friday afternoon.

The Daily Chronicle reports a fight broke out in the parking lot between two groups of people. DeKalb Police Cmdr. John Petragallo told the Chronicle that at least one shot was fired.

One man is in custody and two people were injured, according to the Chronicle.

Earlier this week, the Northern Star student newspaper reported on an alleged meth lab bust at the hotel.
