The injury woes continued for the Bears’ defense against the Ravens on Sunday. Defensive tackle Stephen Paea suffered a toe injury in the first half and did not return.

Paea aggravated the turf toe on his left foot that kept him out for two games earlier this season. He left Soldier Field in a walking boot.

The Bears were already without defensive end Shea McClellin, who missed his second consecutive game with a hamstring injury.

At one point, the Bears’ defensive line featured ends Julius Peppers and Cheta Ozougwu and tackles Landon Cohen and Christian Tupou.

“You never know who is going to go down,” Peppers said. “Everybody has to prepare like they’re going to be in the game. When those opportunities came, we had a few guys step in and take advantage.”
