SHARE Northwestern RB Stephen Buckley carted off with knee injury, out for remainder of game

LINCOLN, Neb.–Northwestern running back Stephen Buckley injured his knee when he was hit by Nebraska safety Corey Cooper on a 17-yard reception in the first quarter of the Wildcats’ game against the Huskers on Saturday.

Wildcats staff surrounded Buckley for several minutes before he was carted off the field. Buckley was reported as stable and will not be rushed to the hospital. He is out for Saturday’s game.

Buckley is one of three running backs who dressed for the Wildcats Saturday in addition to Treyvon Green and Tim Hanrahan . Malin Jones, who has played some running back, was recently moved to superback for Northwestern and has already seen game action.

Running backs Venric Mark, Mike Trumpy and Warren Long were all ruled out for Saturday’s game.
