A pedestrian was hospitalized after being hit by a Metra train Friday evening in Downer’s Grove.

The pedestrian was struck around 5:45 p.m. by Burlington North Santa Fe line Train No.1288 near the Main Street Metra station in Downers Grove, said Metra spokeswoman Meg Reile.

The victim was transported to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, but their condition is unknown, Reile said.

Train No. 1288 is stalled at the station waiting for a crew change, Reile said.

Train Nos. 1277 and 1279, scheduled to arrive in Aurora at 6:25 p.m. and 6:40 p.m., respectively, are running 25-35 minutes behind, according to Metra.

All other trains are 15-45 minutes behind schedule and now moving at a “restricted speed,” according to Metra.
