We’re a few weeks away from the 150th anniversary of The Gettysburg Address, probably the most famous speech ever given by a U.S. president and one of the most famous speeches of all time. While there will be plenty of events to commemorate the great oration of Abraham Lincoln, there will also be the key celebration that really locks in reflection: dedicated minor league hockey jerseys. The monstrosity above – sorry, Abe, there’s no other way to describe it – will be worn by the ECHL’s Bakersfield Condors because when you think Gettysburg, Abe Lincoln, and the Civil War, you think minor league hockey in California. Yes, that is the Gettysburg Address scrawled across the back of the jersey. And, yes, that is an Abe Lincoln top hat on the condor logo.
