Not only did the Western Golf Association honor the legendary Jack Nicklaus at the Peninsula Chicago Hotel Wednesday night, but they raised $900,000 at the third annual “Green Coat Gala.” The event benefited the Evans Scholars Foundation, which has sent golf caddies to college over the past 83 years.
Nicklaus was also inducted into the WGA’s Caddie Hall of Fame — appropriate since the golf icon began in the sport as a caddie for his own father.
