SHARE White Sox agree to extensions with Charlotte, Kannapolis, Great Falls

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. — The White Sox announced an agreement to a six-year Player Development extension with AAA Charlotte and a four-year extensions with Class A Kannapolis and Advanced Rookie Great Falls on Tuesday.

Charlotte will remain a White Sox affiliate through 2020 season. The Kannapolis and Great Falls deals run through 2018.

The Sox and Charlotte began their affiliation in 1999. Next year, the Knights are moving move into a new downtown ballpark.

“It has been the White Sox priority to maintain continuity and stability within the player development system, and this especially holds true considering our long-standing partnerships with Charlotte, Kannapolis and Great Falls,” Sox assistant general manager Buddy Bell said in a statement.

“The White Sox have developed great working relationships with everyone involved at each of these affiliates, and we look forward to continuing to build on those for years to come.”
