The White Sox sent Class AA outfielder Brandon Jacobs to the Arizona Diamondbacks as the player to be named later to complete their trade for outfielder Adam Eaton.

Eaton was acquired from Arizona on Tuesday for lefthander Hector Santiago and a player to be named.

Jacobs, 23, came to the Sox from Boston in a trade for lefty Matt Thornton last season. Between two organizations and three levels, Jacobs batted .244 with 33 doubles, 13 home runs, 66 RBI and 59 runs scored over 127 games. He batted .237 with two home runs and 22 RBI over 43 games for the Sox’ AA affiliate in Birmingham.
