Harry Styles of One Direction

Harry Styles is the latest celebrity to take on the paparazzi. The One Direction singer won a court order in British High Court — granted an injunction against unidentified photographers. The order was granted last week, but continued on Monday until another hearing in January.

According to the judge’s order, the paparazzi in the case will not be allowed to chase the singer by car or motorcycle, put him under surveillance, loiter within 50 meters [a bit more than 54 yards] of his home, or take any photos under those circumstances.

According to Styles’ attorney, “This is not a privacy injunction. Mr. Styles is not trying to prevent fans approaching him in the street and taking photos. He remains happy to do that, as he always has.

“Rather, it is the method or tactics which have been used by a certain type of photography,” added the attorney.
