PHILADELPHIA — Almost inexplicably, the Bears can clinch the NFC North by beating the Eagles tonight.

Even if theBears lose, they’ll play the Packers for the division title in one week at Soldier Field.

Two unlikely results around the NFL set up the scenario. The Lions lost to the Giants, 23-20, in overtime; as the game ended, players in the Bears locker room whooped loud enough to be heard through the concrete walls.

Minutes later, Green Bay lost to the Steelers, 38-31, when the Packers stalled at the Steelers’ 1-yard line, took a penalty and threw an incompletion on the last play of the game.

The Lions lost two-straight home games to be eliminated from playoff contention.
