Left-hander Charlie Leesman and catcher Bryan Anderson will be the first two September callups from AAA Charlotte to join the White Sox, manager Robin Ventura said Saturday. They are expected in Boston on Sunday.

Leesman, 26, pitched five innings in a start against the Twins on Aug. 9, escaping trouble by allowing only one run on four hits and five walks. He struck out eight. At Charlotte, he was 4-3 with a 3.87 ERA, 78 strikeouts and 41 walks over 88 1/3 innings.

Leesman will work out of the bullpen, although Ventura did not rule out a spot start.
