Right-hander Brian Omogrosso had season-ending elbow surgery Monday. The procedure removed loose bodies and shaved down a bone spur in Omogrosso’s right elbow.

Omogrosso, 29, appeared in 12 games for the Sox in relief this season. He is expected to resume throwing in 8-10 weeks.

He went on the disabled list July 10.
