SEEN ON THE SCENE: A Chicago Who’s Who was front and center Tuesday night as Dr. K.S. Lo, executive chairman of the Langham Hospitality Group, welcomed the bold-face local crowd to the official gala opening of Langham Chicago — the spectacular new addition to Our Town’s collection of high-end hotels. A high note of the evening — sorry for the bad pun — was the flawless performance by Langham’s international ambassador and famed pianist Lang Lang.
Among those spied leaping to their feet for a lengthy standing ovation as Lang Lang concluded were architect Dirk Lohan, evening emcees Bob Sirott and Marianne Murciano, Lord Piers Wedgwood, aldermen Ed Burke and Tom Tunney, federal Judge James Zagel, Desiree Rogers, Neal Zucker, Grant DePorter, Helen Melchoir, Jocelyn Stoller, Hazel and Warren Barr, Mamie Walton, Bill Marovitz and TV’s Darlene Hill and Linda Yu.
