Northwestern coach Pat Fitzgerald announced Monday that starting quarterback Kain Colter is classified as day-to-day. Daniel Jones, who appeared to injure his knee in Saturday’s 44-30 win at Cal, is out for the season.

Colter played only two plays Saturday before leaving the game with a concussion. The team eventually ruled him out for the game at halftime.

Jones appeared to hurt his knee defending a pass in Northwestern’s end zone with 20 seconds left in the first half. He was carted off the field and did not return.
