Sarah and Kerry Wood

There will be a range of things to choose to do this Tuesday:

†Good guy Kerry Wood and his wife Sarah will receive the Daily Point of Light award at a Chicago Cultural Center breakfast from the Points of Light — reportedly the world’s largest volunteer organization. The organization is recognizing the ex-Cub and his wife’s great commitment to improving the lives of so many young Chicagoans, through their Wood Family Foundation’s programs.

†WGN Radio mainstays Lou “Mr. Fix It” Manfredini and Steve Cochran will headline the Gale Street Inn’s latest “Bar Talk” event, 6 p.m. Tuesday at 4916 N. Milwaukee — with funds from the dinner going to support the Leaning Tower YMCA.

†There should be laughs a-plenty Tuesday night at the Hubbard Inn for the River North eatery’s “Chicago Conversations” program: “The Second City: First in Funny.”

Veteran broadcasting pro Monroe Anderson and former Pritzker Military Library prez Ed Tracy will host a panel that will include Chicago improv and comedy legend Sheldon Patinkin and Second City’s marketing director Robin Hammond.
