More passengers flew from Chicago to New York City in the last year than any other two destinations in the country, new federal data showed Tuesday.
In addition, Chicago was the starting or ending point for four of the 10 most popular plane routes traveled, data from the Bureau of Transportation Statistics indicated.
The information reflects domestic air passenger counts from July 2012 to June 2013.
The top route saw more than 3.5 million passengers leave Chicago for New York City.
Chicago to Los Angeles was the fourth most popular route; Chicago to Minneapolis came in No. 8; and Atlanta to Chicago was No. 10.
