The Bears filled Henry Melton’s roster spot Friday with Landon Cohen, a veteran defensive tackle who 10 days ago was released by the Dallas Cowboys.

Cohen has appeared in 27 games, making five starts, since being selected by Detroit in the seventh round of the 2008 draft.

The 6-foot-3, 300-pound Ohio University alum has 32 tackles over a career that includes stops in Jacksonville, New England, Seattle, Arizona and Dallas.

Cohen was not at Bears practice Friday.

Melton was placed on injured reserve Friday; he is out for the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
