D.J. Williams will start at middle linebacker for the Bears today, the team said, after returning to practice six days ago following more than a month off with a calf injury.

Williams beat out rookie Jon Bostic, who had played admirably in his absence. The veteran, who was signed this offseason to help replace Brian Urlacher, did not appear in a preseason game.

The team also announced that Corey Wootton will start at defensive end over Shea McClellin. The two had shared first-team honors on the depth chart.
