Chicago native Kanye West is known for his very short fuse, but after details surfaced regarding him hitting a man in Beverly Hills Monday — this incident may be seen as different from past West altercations.

According to several sources, a man was screaming ugly racial epithets and other nasty slurs at West’s fiancee and baby mama Kim Kardashian as she was ducking paparazzi — attempting to enter an office building. According to Kardashian’s camp, the man also threatened to kill the reality star — reportedly truly frightening her and upsetting her fiancé.

West reportedly slugged the man, who then filed a police report.

However, after consulting her attorneys, Kardashian is planning to file her own police report to support her claim that she felt threatened.

The Beverly Hills Police say they are investigating the situation.
