DAILY GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE FOR

TUESDAY, JANUARY 14, 2014

In the morning, the President will receive the Presidential Daily Briefing in the Oval Office. This meeting is closed press.

Later in the morning, the President will hold a Cabinet Meeting in the Cabinet Room. The Vice President will also attend. There will be a pool spray at the top of the meeting.

In the afternoon, the President and the Vice President will meet for lunch in the Private Dining Room. This lunch is closed press.

Later in the afternoon, the President will welcome the 2013 NBA Champion Miami Heat to the White House to honor the team on winning their second-straight Championship title. While at the White House, the team will visit wounded warriors from the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, continuing the tradition begun by President Obama of honoring sports teams for their efforts to give back to communities. This event in the East Room is open press.

Following the visit, the President will meet with the Executive Committee of the National Governors Association in the Roosevelt Room. This meeting is closed press.

Afterwards, the President and the Vice President will meet with Secretary of Defense Hagel in the Oval Office. This meeting is closed press.

In the evening, the President will meet with Maria Shriver who will present the President with a copy of the latest Shriver Report: “A Woman’s Nation Pushes Back from the Brink.” The report focuses on the millions of women who are working hard, but are consistently on the brink of poverty; and highlights the need for the nation to address women’s dual roles as caregivers and breadwinners and the specific challenges they face.
