Bergstein’s NY Delicatessen, whose roots are in the south suburbs, has opened in Hyde Park.

Billy Davis said the deli will start with a limited menu and shortened hours in order to get the staff trained. The deli at 1160 E. 55th St. will be open 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. for now, DNAInfo.com reports.

Davis and his father started the deli in Chicago Heights. Davis had served the the University of Chicago campus from a food truck before deciding to open a deli in the neighborhood.
