Aldermen authorized financing for Chicago’s 21st dog park Tuesday. They also urged the Chicago Park District to create more dog parks for the city’s 600,000 canines — and to lower the fundraising bar for dog owners.

By comparison, Portland — ranked the best U.S. city for dogs last year by Estately — boasts 33 dog parks.
