Industrial real estate firm Epic Realty Partners has been acquired by Houston-based Transwestern.

“The strategic acquisition of Epic’s expert team advances Transwestern’s industrial services in the Chicago metro and adds to the depth of the firm’s industrial platform,” Mike Watts, Transwestern’s Midwest president, said in a prepared statement.

Epic Realty Partners specializes in the leasing, sale, management and development of warehouse, distribution and manufacturing facilities. Epic last year completed 225 transactions worth $216.7 million and involving 9.2 million square feet.

The deal expands Houston-based Transwestern’s existing Chicago office of 174 people to 200, the Houston Business Journal reports.
