Planning on attending an Bulls game (or any other NBA game) this season? Well, it’s going to cost you — a lot — and on average, 3.5 percent more than last year, according to the latest numbers from the folks at Team Marketing Report.
The Fan Cost Index represents the total cash outlay to take a family of four to a game (four average-price tickets, two small draft beers, four small soft drinks, four hot dogs, parking for one car, two programs and two of the cheapest adult-size caps).
The Knicks are the most expensive ticket in the NBA at $659.92, which is $116 more than the Lakers, who come in at No. 2.
Overall, the Bulls’ FCI jumped 7.0 percent from last season (banking on that Derrick Rose return, apparently), but that’s not even close to the biggest spike in the league. That honor goes to the Golden State Warriors, who have jacked up prices 24.3 percent. The Cavaliers have the biggest price drop (5.5 percent).
There are some decent promotions to cut the cost. For example, for $45 in Charlotte, you’ll get three tickets and a $15 credit to be used on food or at the team store. The 76ers offer $1 hot dogs and pretzels on select nights, while the Suns have $5 college nights.

Where tickets are concerned, the New Orleans Pelicans are by far your best deal at $26.87 for one ticket. That’s nearly a 3-for-1 deal when compared to the Bulls average price of $77.65.
But what about the beer and other concessions? Minnesota takes the price for most expensive beer ($9.50), but if you head to San Antonio, getting liquored up will cost roughly half as much ($5).
If you’re looking to come in significantly under the FCI, taking public transportation and doing without a program or team cap will do the trick, as that’s where some teams really gouge the fans. For example, parking your car at TD Garden in Boston will set you back $38, while a Spurs hat is the most expensive in the league at $30. The Heat empty their fans’ wallets on multiple occasions, with $35 parking and $15 for a game program.
