Ford sales in China rise 49%

Ford China sold a record 935,813 vehicles in 2013, a 49 percent increase for the year.

“2013 has proved to be a milestone year for Ford’s accelerated growth in China as we delivered on our plan to bring to China seven of Ford’s next-generation global vehicles,” said John Lawler, chairman and CEO of Ford Motor China.

Sales of four models — the Focus ST, Fiesta ST, Explorer and the Edge — totaled 26,856 vehicles, a 231 percent increase from 2012, Ford said Monday.
