SHARE Video: Illinois astronaut Mike Hopkins discusses spacewalk prep work

University of Illinois graduate Mike Hopkins has been living on the International Space Station since September and, more recently, he participated in emergency spacewalks around Christmas Eve to repair the station’s damaged cooling systems. In this video, Hopkins discusses all the prep work that goes into a spacewalk. Believe it or not, it isn’t as simple as popping a spacesuit on and jumping out the hatch.
