The eatery offers a set menu with variations on a theme. This cycle, served through April, dedicates plates to all courses Chicago: the classic steakhouse. As Crain’s Chicago Business On Dining blog reported Monday diners who like late-night dinner reservations can have their steak and eat it too — with shrimp cocktail, lobster both ways — bisque and Thermidor, as well was the other staples of the genre.
A quick check lists every Saturday night through the run has available tables for four with seatings past 9:30 p.m. Tables for two can be booked for an early dinner on Wednesdays (5:30 p.m.) in addition to late night seatings.
It can’t be a case of the meat sweats (what happens to me after a meat-intensive late-night dinner) causing folks to not make reservations. Those wanting to tuck into small plates of meat at Girl & the Goat will have a tough time scoring a Saturday reservation (unless you’re part of the 4:30 p.m. crowd).
But if you’re eager to try the dinner, don’t spend too much time considering the outlays. The dinner starts at $160 per person (with alcohol pairings, the tab gets a bit larger) and fewer spots are available now than earlier today.
