(SOUTH HOLLAND) Roadwork on the Tri-State Tollway in the south suburbs will close lanes in both directions this weekend.

One lane in each direction will be closed between Halsted Street and the Bishop Ford Freeway starting at 9 p.m. Friday, according to the Illinois Tollway. A second lane in each direction will close at 10 p.m., with all lanes scheduled to reopen by 5 a.m. Monday.

The weekend’s work will include repairs on bridges over the CSX Railroad, Thorn Creek and Thornton Quarry in Homewood, the Tollway said. The weekend-long lane closure is needed to allow concrete to cure on patched portions of bridge pavement.
