SHARE 19-year-old man killed in rollover crash in Channahon

(CHANNAHON) A 19-year-old man was killed in a rollover crash Wednesday night in southwest suburban Channahon.

The Ford pickup was northbound on I-55 near Route 6 about 7:30 p.m. when it went off the road into the center median and rolled into the southbound lanes, according to a statement from Illinois State Police.

The driver, Ryan Smith, of Morris, was ejected from the pickup and pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

It appears he was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation by state police.
