(GARY, Ind.) The Borman Expressway (I-80/94) was closed in both directions Sunday evening for more than two hours while a person threatened to jump off a bridge over the highway in Gary, Indiana.

Police responded to the person threatening to jump off the bridge about 4:30 p.m. on Broadway over I-80/94, according to Indiana State Police Cpl. Carl Hall.

The expressway was closed in both directions while officers from the Gary Police Department responded to the situation, Hall said.

Hall said the person did not jump from the bridge.

All lanes of I-80/94 were reopened to traffic shortly before 7 p.m., Hall said. Gary police are leading the investigation.
