(NAPERVILLE) A Naperville woman was seriously hurt in a Route 59 crash on Tuesday afternoon in the western suburb.

The two-car collision happened at 4:22 p.m. at the intersection of Route 59 and Leverenz Road, according to a statement from Naperville police.

A 65-year-old Naperville woman was driving a silver 2000 Acura west on Leverenz when a gray 2005 Scion heading south on Route 59 hit her car, police said.

She was seriously injured and taken to Edward Hospital in Naperville, police said.

The 26-year-old Plainfield man driving the Scion was not injured, police said. Neither driver was impaired at the time of the crash.

Police continue to investigate the cause of the crash. Anyone who saw the wreck or has any additional information is asked to contact police at (630) 305-5379.
