A man and woman were seriously hurt in a shooting Saturday night in the South Deering neighborhood.

The shooting happened at 11:58 p.m. in the 10000 block of South Crandon Avenue, police said. Both were sitting on a porch when someone approached and opened fire.

The man, 42, suffered a gunshot wound to the face and the woman, also 42, suffered a gunshot wound to the leg. Both were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious condition, police said.

No one is in custody as Area South detectives investigate.
