Teenager shot in Morgan Park

A 17-year-old boy was shot Sunday afternoon in the Morgan Park neighborhood on the Far South Side.

The boy was shot in the lower right leg about 1:20 p.m. near West 113th Place and South Elizabeth Street, police said, citing preliminary information.

He was taken to MetroSouth Medical Center in Blue Island, where he is listed in “stable” condition, police said.

Area South detectives are investigating.
