A 16-year-old boy was shot early Tuesday in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

The boy walked into Norwegian American Hospital about 2:10 a.m. with a gunshot wound to the leg, said police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer, citing preliminary information.

He was listed in “stable” condition, Greer said. The boy told police he was shot in the 3300 block of West Maypole Avenue.

No one is in custody as Area North detectives investigate.
