Metra is warning of possible delays during Monday’s morning commute on the Union Pacific/North Line after a train derailed in north suburban Waukegan.

Inbound train no. 826 derailed in Waukegan late Sunday, according to Metra’s website. As a result, outbound train no. 301 was delayed more than three hours overnight.

Metra warns that trains in both directions may be delayed between 10 and 20 minutes during the morning rush hour. Speed restrictions are in effect near Waukegan, but all tracks are open as of 5 a.m.

Commuters should listen to platform announcements for delay times.
