Not only is Pope Francis the “People’s Pope,” but he could be the “Aliens’ Pope” as well, based on comments he made during Mass on Monday.

“If, for example, an expedition of Martians arrived tomorrow,” and one wanted to be baptized, “What would happen?” the pope asked the congregation at Domus Sanctae Marthae.

He stressed that he was indeed talking about aliens, by describing them as “green, with long noses and big ears, like in children’s drawings.”

He said he’d administer the rite, because it’s not up to him to judge who can receive the Holy Spirit.

Was he trying to make a point about the unpredictability of the Holy Spirit, or does he truly believe in aliens?
