A.1. is dropping the word “steak” from its name after 50 years in recognition of people using A.1. on chicken, pork, fish and even vegetables.

Northfield-based Kraft Foods Group Inc. has redesigned the label. And the company is launching a “For Almost Everything. Almost” marketing campaign to trumpet the new name. The brand’s first TV commercials in five years will air beginning Monday, May 19.
