Woman shot in Austin

A woman was shot in the left hand Sunday morning in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

About 6 a.m., the 24-year-old woman was in a car in the 900 block of North Lavergne Avenue with an acquaintance when she heard shots ring about and realized she had been struck, said police News Affairs Officer Janel Sedevic.

Her acquaintance dropped the woman off at Loretto Hospital, where she was listed in good condition, Sedevic said.

No one is in custody as Area North detectives investigate.
