(ROLLING MEADOWS) A northwest suburban man is facing child pornography charges after authorities say he posted an inappropriate image on his Facebook page.

Osman Bedel, 59, of Rolling Meadows was ordered held on a $100,000 bond Thursday by Judge Bridget Hughes, according to the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office.

He is charged with dissemination of child pornography and two counts of still depiction by computer of child pornography, a statement from prosecutors said.

According to prosecutors, authorities launched an investigation after Bedel allegedly posted child pornography to his Facebook page.

Arlington Heights police searched Bedel’s iPhone and found numerous files containing images of children engaged in sex acts, including the image posted to Facebook, prosecutors said.

Bedel is next scheduled to appear in court June 12 in Rolling Meadows.
