Person shot in South Deering

A person was shot Thursday evening in the South Deering neighborhood on the South Side.

The male, whose age was not immediately known, suffered a gunshot wound to the leg about 7:30 p.m. in the 9800 block of South Yates Boulevard, said police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer, citing preliminary information.

Hospital information was not available, Greer said.
