Man shot to death in Austin

A man was found shot to death early Monday in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

Officers responding to shots fired found 25-year-old Lance Stanton with multiple gunshot wounds in the 5400 block of West Haddon Avenue about 1 a.m., according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

Stanton, who lived on the block where he was killed, was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where he was pronounced dead at 1:36 a.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.

Police said the man has gang affiliations.
