Five people were injured—one critically—in a crash Thursday morning in the Northwest Side Belmont Cragin neighborhood.

The crash happened at the intersection of Austin Avenue and Altgeld Street about 11:15 a.m., police News Affairs Officer Janel Sedevic said.

One person was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County; two were taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood; and two were taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, Sedevic said.

Police said one person was critically injured. According to Fire Media Affairs, all five victims were in serious-to-critical condition.
