A male was seriously hurt in a shooting Thursday afternoon in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

The shooting happened in the 4900 block of West Huron Street about 12 p.m., police News Affairs Officer Michael Sullivan said.

The victim, whose age was not known, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, Sullivan said.
