Woman shot in Austin

A woman was shot Saturday morning in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

The 21-year-old woman suffered a gunshot wound to the hand about 5:55 a.m. in the 5600 block of West Madison Street, said police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada, citing preliminary information.

She walked into Jackson Park Hospital and Medical Center, where she was listed in good condition, Estrada said.

No one is in custody as Area North detectives investigate.
