A woman was seriously hurt in a shooting early Sunday in the Little Village neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The 49-year-old woman was standing with a group in the 2700 block of West 24th Street about 3 a.m. when a gunman walked up and fired multiple shots, police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.

She was shot in the chest and taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, Greer said.
