A man was stabbed to death during a fight Saturday night in the Chatham neighborhood on the South Side.

Rickey Hayes, 55, was involved in an altercation with another male in the 7900 block of South Ingleside at 9:45 p.m., according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

The other man stabbed Hayes in the chest, and he was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital where he died at 10:49 p.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.

An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday.

No one is in custody as Area South detectives investigate.
